Tegano-lake.com is dedicated to Lake Tegano, East Rennell, in Rennell Bellona Province, Solomon Islands.

Lake Tegano is normally referred to by these names; 'Lake Tegano' Tegano Lake' or 'East Rennell', and these names are used exchangably in this website.

Rennell Island was geographically zoned many years ago into two main zones known to this day as 'West Rennell' and 'East Rennell'. Lake Tegano is located in East Rennell, the largest body of enclosed water in the insular pacific. There have been Scientific studies carried out in East Rennell that among other things, identifies flowers and birds that are endemic only to East Rennell or Rennell Island.

East Rennell is with a population of about six hundred people living in four villages nested along the coastline of Lake Tegano.

East Rennell has been enlisted World Heritage Natural Site in 1998.

The primary purpose of 'tegano-lake.com' is to showcase Tegano Lake, East Rennell and its natural heritage, and with the utmost hope that Tegano people take pride and appreciate the value of the place we call Home. This website seeks to address challenges and issues facing Lake Tegano, East Rennell, as an asset, and as a people.

Domestic flight from Honiara, Solomon Islands capital city, to Rennell Bellona Islands is twice weekly, provided by Solomon airlines. For International travellers, Solomon airlines, Pacific blue and Our airline fly Brisbane to Honiara route, and Air Vanuatu to Honiara return once weekly.
